The Complete Modern Calligraphy Course - March 2025
Join me, Anthea, from Crouch End Calligraphy for an engaging and informative 3-week in-person Modern Calligraphy course. I’ll guide you step-by-step through the process of creating beautiful hand-lettering. You’ll learn how to transform ordinary cards, envelopes, place cards, and gift tags into stunning personalized pieces using an elegant modern calligraphy script. Along the way, I'll provide tips on achieving smooth, consistent strokes and creative ways to incorporate calligraphy into your projects. I’m excited to share (almost!) everything I know to help you gain the skills and confidence to write beautifully.
What You’ll Learn:
How to use a dip pen and ink, master basic calligraphy strokes, and form both lowercase and uppercase letters along with numbers.
How to explore different styles of lettering.
Tips for experimenting with various types of inks, including colored, metallic, and white inks.
How to complete a small finished project, like place cards or gift tags.
Benefit from a small group setting with plenty of one-on-one time with me.
What’s Included:
A personalized calligraphy kit for you to keep, which includes a nib holder, nibs, ink, practice paper, and worksheets.
Continued access to me for tips and support after the course.
Light refreshments and treats.

Suitable for both left and right-handed participants.
The venue has a few stairs, so please let me know if accessibility is a concern.
