How much do you charge for envelope addressing, place cards, table numbers, etc.?

Envelope addressing begins at £3.50 per envelope for light coloured, unlined envelopes with left justified or stepped address layouts. Dark paper, lined envelopes and centred writing will be charged at a higher rate to reflect the added work involved. Place cards begin at £1.50 and table numbers at £8 each. Love letters and poems will be priced individually. If a job is very small, then it might incur a minimum charge of £45 to cover set up time, templating, packaging time, etc.

How do we get started and what is the process?

If you would like to work together, please email me. If you have a deadline, it’s best to get in touch as soon as possible so I can add you to my calender. It is ideal, but not always necessary, that I test ink on your stationery before we begin. Not all paper is appropriate for calligraphy but most good quality paper will be just fine. I can also source paper or envelopes for you. Please see below.

Once we have agreed on the lettering that you need and the cost, I will ask for a deposit of 50% to secure your spot. At that point we can organise for your stationery to be delivered or dropped off to me.

I will need your list of addresses and names in a Word, Pages or Excel document, poems and lyrics in Word or Pages, preferably. I will write out exactly what you provide so please triple check it for any typos or mistakes and write out, in full, words such as Road, Street, or Apartment if you would like to see them that way, please . Also if you prefer an ampersand to the word ‘and’ just let me know by writing it that way in your electronic document. I will write the addresses broken down by line as you have provided them, except in rare instances where a line might be too long to fit and I have to get creative.

Once the work is complete, I will ask that the remainder of the payment be made before I ship the stationery back to you. We will pick the quickest, most cost effective method, including tracking.

Do you make mistakes?

I triple check everything I write to make sure that it correct so you should not see any mistakes but of course please tell me if I have and I will rectify ASAP. This having been said, yes, I do make mistakes, and I splatter and smudge ink too! This is why I ask that all orders come with 15-20% extra envelopes, place cards, menus, etc. This will account for any mistakes on my part and any additions that you might have at a later date.

Do your provide paper and envelopes?

The answer here is ‘yes’, I can definitely help you find suitable matching envelopes but these are best provided by your stationer. Place cards, favour tags and other little day of details are something where I am very happy to have a little fun and can custom make or source for you. I do provide paper for love letters and quotes.

Can you match the ink to my stationery?

Definitely, I am happy to match colours for you. Please provide me with a colour swatch and I will see what I can do. Depending on what is involved, there may be a small surcharge.

Oh no! I left someone off my list. Can you help, please?

If I have time, then of course I will help you with any last minute changes or additions. Because it takes time to set up templates and nibs, and remix inks, there may be a £20 set up fee. This is on top of the additional cost of the work and any further shipping costs. It’s always best I have a complete and accurate list when I begin work.

I don’t live near you. Is that a problem?

No, not at all. I work with clients across the UK and in almost all cases, the work I do is coordinated through email, phone calls and shipping partners.

I needed it yesterday. Can you help?

Please reach out and I will always see what I can do. Please know that there may be a surcharge for rush jobs.

I hope that covers most of your questions but please get in touch if you don’t see the answer to your question here. I am always happy to talk you through the process.
